Jamie Allen signs Dale contract extension
Date published: 17 December 2016
Jamie Allen has signed a contract extension. The 21-year-old is now contracted to Rochdale until the summer of 2018.
Allen has been at the club since the age of eight and was offered professional terms at the end of his scholarship in April 2013.
The midfielder, who was captain of the club’s successful youth team, made his senior debut in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win at Port Vale later that year, and has gone on to make over 100 appearances.
Allen commented: “I’m really pleased to have signed an extension to my contract. I have been here since I was eight-years-old and I love the club. I enjoy it here, I’m happy here and it feels right to be here – that’s why I have extended my contract.
“We’ve got a great set of lads. We’re playing well, results have been great and we’re in really good form, so hopefully it will be a good season for us.”
Manager Keith Hill said: “I’m really, really pleased that Jamie has signed and committed himself to the football club because I love with working with him.
“I also believe it’s good business from our point of view and from his as well."
