Law Cup: Rochdale Hornets v Oldham Roughyeds
Oldham Rugby League Football Club was saved from being wound up in the High Court on Monday after paying an estimated £10,000 tax debt.
The club was given time to pay when the petition was first heard, last year. The court was told at that time that the club had paid off part of an undisclosed tax debt, with £10,000 still outstanding - which has now been paid.
The club also faced three winding up petitions in 2010 but managed to pay its debts.
Fiona Dewar, counsel for HM Revenue & Customs, asked Registrar Clive Jones to dismiss the petition after the debt had been paid in full.
