Tutors dress up funny for money

Date published: 23 March 2011

Second year Business Studies students at Hopwood Hall College wanted to raise some funds for Comic Relief, so they decided to put forward some fun ideas.

“How about paying for our tutors to look completely ridiculous for a day?” they said.

So, the students asked two of their Business and Retail Tutors Jez Crook and Elaine Morley if they would oblige and the good-humoured duo agreed to take up the challenge.

Jez was to dress as a woman for the day and Elaine was to dress as a man - whilst continuing with their professional teaching duties.

The twosome paraded themselves around the Hopwood Hall College Middleton Campus to the amusement of staff and students alike. Everyone was encouraged to dig deep and contribute to the Comic Relief tin, including students and all other staff including directors and managers.

Some Business Studies students joined in the fun themselves and paid £1 to wear something red or dress funny for the day, from PJs to Pirates.
£170 was collected on the day itself with additional sponsorship due to come in within the next week. So the success of the day should be around £200 raised to support Comic Relief.
