ChildLine has launched a new online film to help young people understand how the service can support them.
ChildLine’s 'Making contact' film shows a boy talking through his fears of speaking up about his problem and the barriers stopping him from getting in touch with ChildLine. The film goes on to show how ChildLine helped him once he reached out.
The film also highlights the different ways young people can get in touch with the service – via the helpline on 0800 1111 and via 1-2-1 chats and emails on the ChildLine website.
Tracy Berseford, ChildLine Service Manager for Manchester, said: “For some young people a barrier to contacting ChildLine is the fear of the unknown. With this new online film we are highlighting what happens when they get in touch and also the different ways they can contact the service. Ultimately, we want to show young people that ChildLine is there for them whatever their worry.”
