Pudsey Bear from the BBC’s Children in Need with pupils from Shawclough Community Primary School.
Pudsey Bear made a surprise visit to Shawclough Community Primary School on Friday (24 October).
The school always takes part in the annual Children in Need fundraising activities, raising valuable funds for the charity, so were well deserving of a visit by the bear himself.
Headteacher Julia Sandiford-Mitchell said: "When Pudsey arrived the school just went silent and you could hear a pin drop.
“It has been one of the best days at the school for ages...to have Pudsey visit has just made the children’s day.”
Pudsey was joined by celebrity chef Aazam Ahmad from BBC Fusion. During the visit children had photos taken to raise money for the appeal. On Children in Need Day (14 November) pupils will be having a ‘Wear what you want day’ and a colouring competition.
Ms Sandiford-Mitchell continued: “Everyone was thrilled to bits to meet Pudsey and proudly show him around the school. They showed him the work they’ve been doing around Halloween.
"We have all had a fabulous day and we are very grateful to Aazam for his involvement in our school and we would especially like to thank Pudsey. We are honoured in being the only school in Rochdale to have had a visit. I am proud of our children for once again working hard to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.”
