A spate of burglaries have been reported in the Castleton area. The incidents have been happening between lunchtime and 8pm with the offenders gaining access via the back of the property. Officers are asking residents to be vigilant and are suggesting:

  • Secure your home – if you’re upstairs, make sure your doors and windows are locked.
  • Limit access – close windows and lock doors including gates around your house and consider fitting security alarms.
  • Store valuables and Christmas presents away from the windows and doors.
  • Security marked items make things less desirable to thieves so marking them can also help to trace them when they get lost.
