The Friends of Norden Jubilee Park have installed a Christmas Tree in the park.
While the festive season is upon us, local residents questioned why there has never been a Christmas tree in Norden Jubilee Park - Norden’s tree is at the War Memorial, on the other side of the village - and set about doing something about it.
Paul Ellison, Chairman of Friends of Norden Jubilee Park said: “When I found this out, there was only one option for the Friends group to act upon, to find, install and light a tree within the park for all the community to enjoy."
With the help of funding from the Rochdale Township Office and the support of Councillor Peter Winkler, Mr Ellison set about digging and concreting the base in for a 19 foot Christmas tree.
The residents of Norden and surrounding areas now have a Christmas Tree to enjoy.
