Jack and the Beanstalk

The final performance of the show took place on Saturday night. The pantomime was a resounding success which is testament to the hard work that went into the show. Both staff and pupils have worked tirelessly for months. There were some fantastic singing performances as well as a fairy tale version of the dating programme ‘Take Me Out’.

Although there are far too many to mention; star performances include Joe Maloney, as the lovable Jack, Laura Dawe as the gracious Princess, Kyanna Cronshaw as the frugal Queen, Mary Owofolaju as the comical town crier, Lewis Ashworth as the Dame, and not forgetting Eliza Iannidinandi and Clareece Bulloch who had the all-important role of ‘Daizee the Kow’!

Students who took part in the show claimed they were sad that it was over, but loved every minute. Well done to everybody involved.

Christmas Wish Tree

The school's Christmas wish tree is now on display. Each form put forward their Christmas wishes which were then created by the technology department. Mrs Russell and Mrs Moore then used their creative skills to create the stunning final result.

Charity News

The Groundwork Trust Team

The GTT enjoyed their reward trip on Monday with a trip to Sandbrook Park. Taylor was the bowling champion, with Sam in second place beating Mrs Ellidge by 1 point! Everyone had a great time and behaved perfectly throughout the day.

Year 7 & 8 Reward Trip

We took 46 pupils from year 7 and 8 to the Manchester ice rink on Monday evening.

Pupils changed into their own clothes at lunch and were very excited to be going on a trip. After fighting through the traffic we arrived at the rink, a little bit of the Alps in Manchester. At 4pm the ice was open and pupils and teachers alike got straight onto the ice for a frantic 45 minutes. Whilst some were happy to clutch onto the side or use the penguins and seals for balance, others were flying around at warp speed.

The hour was soon up, so the pupils then went to the alpine cabins for refreshments before the trip back to school. You can safely say that everyone had a great time and except for a few bumps there were no major injuries.
