Post 16 EHC Plans: Preparing our Youngsters for Adulthood.

The feedback we are receiving from parents and carers at the recent Post 16 Annual Review and EHC plans meetings has been extremely positive and your input into the target setting aspect has been vital. Thank you for your support during these important planning meetings as we continue to implement our academic and life skills programmes to prepare our youngsters for adulthood following their Post 16 programme.

Parent Governor opportunity

A reminder that there is still an opportunity for parents / carers to self - nominate to become a governor of Redwood School in the spring term. Should you wish to have an informal discussion on this please do not hesitate to contact me. I hope to hear from one or two parents / carers in the near future. Thanking you in advance for your support.

On the 3 December ASC held a coffee morning where parents and carers where invited to come and make a Christmas Card with their child in school, we had over 20 families attend. Children came down to bistro to meet their guest and spent an hour making Christmas Cards with them. We had a lovely time and it was a great way to start the Christmas Season.

Students in Mrs Milston’s class went on a trip on Wednesday to see a pantomime of Peter Pan at Hopwood Hall College. They all had a great time. Oh no they didn’t! Oh yes they did!

Cook and Eat this term have worked really hard. All of the group have been brilliant and have helped create amazing dishes such as chocolate and orange cheesecake and vegetable soup with cheesy dumplings. This week we are having a special treat and making a very posh Christmas dinner for ourselves.

This week the students in SSC have been working on sorting money. They have had to ‘buy’ different items in class using the correct money. They all worked well and were able to buy different items.

At ACE Danny has made a great sleigh out of wood, he brought it back to school to paint it and finish it off.

Ryan and Sabrina worked super hard in our Targeted Accreditation group. This week they have been working on writing full sentences and number sequences. The students worked really hard all morning and Miss Doggett was really impressed with what they had achieved. A big WELL DONE to Ryan, Sabrina and Danny!

Students in Mr Alcock’s class have been designing posters on ‘Sick as a Parrot’, the book they have been working on.
