Kingsway Park High School students visit to University of Manchester
A selection of year 8 Kingsway Park High School students recently attended the University of Manchester as part of the Manchester Gateways’ Project.
The Manchester Gateways programme provides talented learners across Greater Manchester with the opportunity to discover the different options in Higher Education.
The programme follows the learners from year 7, when they have a familiarisation visit, to year 11, when the focus is on exam technique and research skills.
This time our year 8 students were working with a number of current PhD students looking at Physics and Engineering. They also had the chance to ask current undergraduates how University differs from school.
All the students got fully involved in the activities and were a credit to themselves and Kingsway Park High School. We are now looking forward to April when the Y7 group will attend their first session.
