John Hartley selected to re-stand for election in Littleborough

Date published: 11 December 2015

Councillor John Hartley has spoken of his pride after being selected to re-stand for election in the village he grew up in.

Born and bred in Littleborough, Councillor Hartley works locally in textiles at the long established Fothergill Factory, and has represented the ward as a member of Rochdale Borough Council since 2012.

He said: “I am not really big in politics or talking about national issues. Playing Labour off against the Conservatives just to score cheap political brownie points doesn't achieve anything.

"It is simply pure good common sense that brings achievements, my only real interest is Littleborough and the lovely people who live here.

“I get a buzz when something gets fixed or put right after my phone call or email and I see this as just one of the little things people get out of paying their council tax.

“If re-elected in May next year I promise to carry on working hard for the people of Littleborough to make sure people get the services they deserve.”
