Burglaries in and around the Manchester New Road area of Middleton
Date published: 10 December 2015
Over the past week there have been a number of burglaries in and around the Manchester New Road area of Middleton and the adjoining streets.
A spokesperson for GMP Heywood and Middleton said: "The offenders are targeting homes that have been left unoccupied for the day whilst people are at work.
"They adopt a crude way of gaining entry by simply throwing large concrete stones through patio windows, and ignoring obvious electrical items they head directly for the bedrooms to search for jewellery.
"We currently have a burglary initiative ongoing, but would ask that if you see anything you are unhappy with such as males you do not recognize from the street walking up driveways or looking into properties then please give us a call on 999 or 101 straight away.
"Any information can be passed in confidence if the identity of the males responsible is known via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
