Sarah Grindrod raises £1,000 for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 08 December 2015

As Sarah Grindrod missed out on a cycle to work day in September to raise money for Springhill Hospice due to being on holiday, so she told Kim Snell, Salt Separation Services Social Secretary that she would volunteer to do something else in order to raise money for the Hospice.

Kim Snell said: “Due to the fact that I know Sarah is a party girl I suggested she gave up alcohol for a period of time; we agreed on three months and I set everything up for her.

“It's been a real hit at work, probably because half of my sponsors didn’t believe Sarah could actually do it. We even got some breathalyser tests that we randomly tested her with. Sarah also agreed that if she did fail that she would cough up all of the sponsor money out of her own pocket.

“So after 12 long weeks Sarah’s 'dryathon' finally finished on Friday 4 December our Christmas Party Day.

“Everyone is very proud of her as she raised a whopping £1,000.00 and the sponsorships are still rolling in.

"We are still collecting cash and will be handing it over to Springhill Hospice in the next couple of weeks."
