The musical line-up for Rochdale’s town centre festive mistletoe and gluhwein bar will have people rockin’ around the Christmas tree.
Tepee tents, food and drink and five days of festive entertainment come to Rochdale from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 December as part of the town’s yuletide celebrations.
Shoppers can keep merry and bright while drinking at the bar, which will be next to Rochdale market in Smith Street, alongside the Metrolink tram stop.
There will be live music from a host of top talent, including Rochdale’s own soulful folk singer Katie O’Malley and on Saturday acclaimed Manchester five-piece piece indie band, Last Race Home.
Irish band and JW Lees MPA Winners ‘King Kartel’, now based in Manchester, will be performing their brand of Fratelli’s-style indie rock on the Sunday, while Rochdale indie outfit ‘Smashing Lads’ take to the stage on Friday.
On the bill are ‘The Hotspur Press’, winner of this year’s Rochdale Feel Good Battle of the Bands competition, indie rockers ‘OK Broken’, blues band ‘The Twisted Dolls’ and new Middleton band ‘The Bright Black’.
On the Wednesday evening from 7pm there will be two performances from the Rochdale Music Service Brass Band.
As well as a full programme of entertainment there will be festive food and drink and market stalls. The bar and tepee tents will be open from 12pm to 10pm daily.
