Rochdale Foodbank gets support from the Skipton
Date published: 04 December 2015
Rochdale’s Foodbank has received support from the local Skipton Building Society branch.
Steven Gooding, manager at Skipton’s Rochdale branch in Yorkshire Street, which is acting as a collection point for the Foodbank, said: “We are delighted to support the local Foodbank as this helps people who need some support at this time of year. With the support of our customers we are committed to supporting this organisation which helps some of the most vulnerable people in our community.”
Margaret Wight , Rochdale Foodbank Manager said: “We have been delighted by the support of local businesses. Sadly, winter always sees a large increase in demand for our services and the support from organisations like the Skipton branch is very welcome. People who donate any items can be assured that every item will go to someone in our town who needs help.”
People can donate goods to the Foodbank at 9-10 South Parade, Rochdale, or alternatively visit the Skipton branch.
Almost 13 million people in the UK live below the poverty line with Foodbanks providing emergency food for more than one million people - and the need for their help will only increase during the winter months.
