Traffic delays as work continues at the Cemetery Pub junction

Date published: 02 December 2015

Repairs to a burst pipe at the Cemetery Pub junction (Bury Road/Sandy Lane/Roch Valley Way) continue to cause traffic delays.

The work is expected to continue until at least Thursday (3 December) evening and temporary lights are in operation.

Representatives of Rochdale Borough Council have been to the site today and agreed with United Utilities that work will take place over extended hours in order to keep the repair time to a minimum.

United Utilities has also agreed to the Council's request that the temporary lights on the junction be manned between 7am and 7pm so that they can be operated to suit the flow of traffic throughout the day.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if at all possible, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours.
