Very wet and windy weather sweeping across the borough

Very wet and windy weather has been sweeping across the borough today (Sunday 29 November) with gusts of up to 50mph.

The Met Office warned on Friday of heavy rain, strong winds with inland gales and expected impacts across parts of Northern England today.

Please be aware of the potential for disruption.

It will become dry with clear spells and a patchy frost this evening. However, cloud will thicken overnight bringing further rain and hill snow later. Winds easing.
