Man in critical condition after shooting in Middleton

A 28-year-old man has been shot in the chest in an incident on Ullswater Drive, Middleton at around 2am this morning (Thursday 26 November 2015).
Paramedics and armed officers attended and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment, where he has undergone surgery.
Detective Inspector Andy Naismith from GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “This man was shot in his home in Middleton and remains critically ill in hospital.
“We believe this was an isolated incident but quite understandably, people in the area will be worried when they hear news of this attack.
“We are doing all we can to identify those responsible and are asking the community to come forward with any information that can assist the police investigation.”
