Multicultural Women’s Welfare Association

The Multicultural Women’s Welfare Association has been set up following a group of 31 women meeting to discuss the issues affecting them.
During the group’s first meeting at Castlemere Community Centre, Councillor Sameena Zaheer was the guest speaker. Councillor Zaheer spoke about her work with women in the area, she also explained the newly launched recycling scheme and stated that she appreciated the setting up of the association.
The Multicultural Women's Welfare Association adopted a written constitution and is planning on organising various activities in Castlemere Community Centre in the near future.
The aims and objectives of the association are:
- The advancement of education
- The advancement of health dealing and relating to health issues
- Saving lives
The following were elected:
- Chairwoman – Anwar Bibi
- Treasurer - Nasima Khan
