Ayubur Raja Choudhury receives long service award

Ayubur Raja Choudhury was presented with a long service award for his long years of voluntary service to the Wardleworth Community Centre and the Wardleworth area at their AGM on Sunday (22 November). Mr Choudhury has been involved in the centre's committees right from the beginning in 1980.
The Mayor of Rochdale, Surindent Biant was in attendance at the event together with the Chairman of Wardleworth Community Centre Association.
Centre Manager Mohammed Doulot Miah said: “It was a very successful event with over 150 members turned up to support the organisation and re elected it company directors to the Management Committee and take part in the running of the organisation.
“Wardleworth Community Centre is a vibrant community centre and has been a hub for the local community providing vital service to the community, this AGM/networking event was well attended which reflects a true community spirit in Wardleworth.”
