Springhill Hospice Christmas Fair raises £11,400

The Mayor of Rochdale, Surinder Biant officially opens the Springhill Hospice Christmas Fair
The Springhill Hospice Christmas Fair has raised a staggering £11,400 with the total still expected to rise.
Officially opened by the Mayor of Rochdale, Surinder Biant, the event was held on Sunday 15 November and saw hundreds of people stream through the doors of the hospice to visit over 60 stalls and attractions.
Stalls included Christmas gifts, crafts, toys, clothes and jewellery as well as food stalls with Indian snacks, BBQ, homemade cake, mulled wine and mince pies.
Visitors could also enjoy tombolas and raffles and could meet Father Christmas and Springy the Hospice frog.
Melanie Caffrey, co-ordinator of the event, said: “It was a great day raising an amazing amount of money. People came out in their droves to support the hospice, even though the weather was horrendous.
"No event would be possible without the people of Rochdale or for that matter without the help and support of all the fantastic volunteers and staff who gave up their time on Saturday and Sunday to get the fair ready and help on the day."
