Volunteer Teacher Thailand awarded Thailand Green Excellence Award for volunteering

Volunteer Teacher Thailand, a non-profit organisation set up by Ken Hyde from Rochdale, has been awarded a Thailand Green Excellence Award.
The organisation, which was set up following a visit to the county by Mr Hyde in 2005, places English teachers in schools that needs them.
Presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi in London, Volunteer Teacher Thailand were given the award for being “a well thought-out and well-managed scheme that ensures best use of the volunteers and a consistency in the lessons.”
The judges added that the organisation was “streets ahead of other teaching programmes” they had seen.
The Thailand Green Excellence Awards UK highlights Thailand’s dedication to the conservation of natural and cultural resources and supports sustainable tourism development.
