Holyrood Nursery evacuated after carbon monoxide detected

The scene at St Edwards C of E Primary School after Holyrood Nursery pupils were evacuated there
42 pupils from Holyrood Nursery on Heywood Road, Castleton, Rochdale, have had to be evacuated this afternoon (Tuesday 17 November) after carbon monoxide was detected.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were called to the nursery after a carbon monoxide alarm was activated and carbon monoxide was found in the basement of the property.
The ambulance service also attended, but at this stage no pupils have shown any signs of being affected by carbon monoxide poisoning.
The pupils were evacuated to nearby St Edwards C of E Primary School.
Fire, police and ambulance are still at the scene (5.15pm).

7.00pm
We have now been informed that two children have been taken to hospital.
