Volunteers sought for Christmas present wrapping service to benefit Mayor’s Charity Appeal

Date published: 16 November 2015

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre is currently looking for volunteers to help wrap Christmas present for shoppers.

The wrapping service is free of charge, but it is asked that a donation is given to the centre’s chosen charity. This year, that is the Mayor’s Charity Appeal, which is raising money for Petrus, Pakeeza Women’s Group, Children’s Deaf Society, Shopmobility and Springhill Hospice, as well as other local charities.

Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre Manager, Debbie Hernon said: “I have been the treasurer of Rochdale Shopmobility for nearly 16 years and I passionately feel that the charity brings a huge added value to residents of the borough and to the town centre businesses our residents visit.

“Shopmobility was chosen to be part of the Mayors Charity fund and so I would strongly like to support the charity in any way I can. This initiative will provide an excellent service to all our loyal shoppers and in doing so it will support all of the amazing charities supported by our Mayor this year.”

The Service will be run between Monday 14 December and Thursday 24 December between 10am and 4pm each day.
