Statement from Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Jim Battle following the terrorist attack in Paris last night: "Millions across the world are shocked and astonished at the horrific events that took place in Paris last night.

"I'm reassured that all communities across Greater Manchester have expressed condemnation, horror, and sympathy towards the families and friends of the victims and the people of France.

"I'm confident that our police and security services continue to be ever vigilant in making sure we are properly protected so that we can go about our daily business without fear."
