Location:
The Upper Irwell catchment includes the Rivers Beal, Roch and Croal, Limey Water and their tributaries.
Other locations which may be affected are around Farnworth, Whitefield, Little Lever, Radcliffe, Bury, Heywood, Whitworth and Bacup
Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the weekend and as a result river levels will rise. The Environment Agency anticipate that flooding may occur.
The Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation develops.
They are out clearing debris screens to minimise potential blockages and flow restriction.
