‘Widowed’ best pals need a new home

Date published: 13 November 2015

Staff at Dogs Trust Manchester are determined to keep a devoted doggie duo together.

Rosie and Beth have been left pining and homeless after their owner died.

Now the Denton based charity is looking for a new owner to take on the nine-year-old pair.

Irish setter, Rosie, and shih-tzu cross, Beth, love being together but they’re also good with other dogs.

They are both so sweet-natured the team feels they would be happy in a home with children aged eight or over and ideally their new family would be around most of the time as they love company.

Deputy manager of the rehoming centre, Lesley O’Donoghue, said: “It was so sad to see them at first as everything they knew had been taken away so suddenly. They were obviously much loved as their owner had registered for our canine care card which means when an owner dies, we are able to take care of their dogs immediately.

“Luckily, despite what they’d been through, they settled in really quickly and as long as they’re together, they’re happy.”
