Britain in Bloom awards for Rochdale

Organisations across Rochdale are celebrating this week after winning awards at Britain in Bloom.
The Growth Project, a project that works in partnership with Hourglass to provide a safe and supportive haven at the MIND allotment, were awarded a Level Four – Thriving award.
Karen Hayday, from The Growth Project, said: “23 of our volunteers went to the award ceremony, who all had a brilliant day. The award shows how hard people have worked on the project over the last year.”
The Roch Valley Education Partnership, an initiative by Groundwork, has seen a group of countryside volunteers improving their skills by transforming a number of local nature sites across Rochdale, Middleton, Oldham and Bury. The group were awarded The Young Bloomer/s of the Year Award.
St Edward’s CE Primary School in Castleton, received the award for Environmental School. The school, based in Castleton, is known as an 'environmental school' for the work that they do on environmental issues.
