St James Church bazaar
Date published: 01 November 2015
St James Church in Heywood held a bazaar on Saturday (31 October).
Organiser Janet Selby said: “A Christmas bazaar has been held by the church since the early 1800s, so it is an annual event that we keep running to raise money for the church.”
The event included stalls such as white elephant, cakes and bric-a-brac and games including a tombola and guess the name of the teddy.
Janet added: “We haven’t set a fund-raising total but I have been told that we have made more on the door this year than we did last year so that’s good.”
Money raised from the event will go towards the up keep of the church.
“We are really pleased with the turnout and it has gone really well,” said Janet.
