Date published: 25 October 2015
A man approached a 26-year-old woman on Watts Street and attempted to speak to her shortly after 7.30am on Thursday (22 October).
He immediately grabbed the woman on the top of her right leg then ran off down Folly Walk, a ginnel beside Daz's Auto.
The man is described as around 5ft 7in tall, average build and aged in his 30s with short hair on the back and sides but slightly curly on top. He was wearing rectangular framed glasses and wearing dark clothing.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Detective Constable Dave Gill said: "I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence who may have seen this man to call police. Likewise, if you see a man acting suspiciously in the area please call police straight away."
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8574 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
