Robbery at Heywood Dominos Pizza
Date published: 24 October 2015
Armed robbers stole cash from a takeaway in Heywood.
Two men went to the rear exit of Dominos Pizza on Pitt Street and followed a delivery driver into the shop.
Once inside, the two offenders demanded cash from the till and the safe.
They left the shop with the cash and took keys to a vehicle belonging to a member of staff. They started to drive away in the car but stopped before leaving the car park and ran away on foot.
The two men were wearing balaclavas, hi-visibility vests and hard construction type helmets. One had a small black handgun and the other had a hammer.
The robbery took place shortly after 7.30pm on Wednesday 21 October.
Detective Constable Claire Bracey said: “Fortunately no body was physically hurt but several members of staff were left shaken up by the incident.
“If anyone was in the area at the time and saw two men matching the description I would ask that they speak to police.”
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8701 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
