The fundraising team are looking for donations for this year’s Christmas Fair. Donations of bric-a brac, bottles, toiletries, chocolates, jewellery, gifts and raffle and tombola prizes are being sought. Donations can be dropped off at The Hospice Tea Room and Gift Shop and any of the hospice shops. Collections can also be made and can be arranged with the fundraising team on 01706 641790.

Cohens Chemist in Heywood has been fundraising for Springhill Hospice and raised £1,214.05.

The Ladies Winter Wonderland Lunch at Nutters on Wednesday 9 December is sold out.

A group of fitness friends at Link4Life put on a Step Masters Class and raised £145 for the Hospice.

Belinda Hulme and a group of friends completed the Pennine Walk from Huddersfield to Lees last week, walking 24 miles of the Pennines over nine hours to raise money for the Hospice.

Man of Rochdale

The nomination deadline for this year’s Man of Rochdale award has been extended to Friday 30 October.

To make your nomination for the Man of Rochdale award, complete a nomination form and return it along with a cover letter outlining your reasons for choosing your nominee.

Alternatively, you can email your nomination and endorsement to:

Your cover letter/email should be of no more than 500 words/

Please note that your nominee can only be considered if he passes the following criteria: 

  • He must work or live in the Borough of Rochdale.
  • He must not already have received a Royal award.
  • He must be an ‘unsung’ member of the general public having voluntarily given of his time and efforts to improve the lives of others within the Rochdale Borough.

Entry to the festive fair is free and will see over 40 stalls and seasonal treats for everyone spread around the Hospice. The event starts at 10am.
