Rochdale health staff scoop award for outstanding care
Date published: 19 October 2015
Two Rochdale health teams have won awards for providing outstanding care to patients.
Healthy Minds which provides free, confidential support for people experiencing common mental health conditions, and the Children’s Asthma Service, were winners of the Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust Principles of Care Awards.
The Healthy Minds team delivers mindfulness sessions to help people to cope with difficulties they encounter in everyday life and reduce stress and anxiety.
Healthy Minds offers regular mindfulness groups to help people improve their mental wellbeing.
The service also offers one-to-one support, counselling and other group therapies.
The Children’s Asthma Service provides support during regular clinic and home visits.
The Principles of Care Awards see staff vote for the teams they feel go above and beyond the call of duty in treating patients.
They recognise the way services embody the Trust’s 10 Principles of Care which include providing safe and effective services, meaningful and individualised care and clear and open communication between staff, patients and families.
