Officers from the Rochdale North Neighbourhood policing team were assisted by members of the special constabulary in taking part in Operation Aftershave, an initiative set up to tackle shoplifting and anti-social behaviour in Rochdale Town Centre, on Saturday 11 October 2015.

The operation involved both uniformed and plain clothed officers and utilised a dispersal zone and dispersal powers, introduced by the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. Further operations are planned in the coming months.

Monday 12 October

A Rochdale man arrested in the early hours of Monday (12 October) morning on suspicion of drink/drug driving has been bailed to re-appear at Bury Custody Office on 9 November pending further enquiries.

A man was arrested for breach of bail.

Anthony Martin (22/01/1980), from Middleton, has been charged with breaching his bail conditions and was conveyed to Bury and Rochdale Magistrates court.

Julie Squibbs (04/10/1969), from Rochdale, has been charged with breaching a reestraining order and was bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 26 October.

William Naylor (27/11/1993) answered his bail on Sunday (11 October) and has since been charged with two counts of criminal damage and bailed with conditions to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 27 November.

Two male juveniles were arrested on suspicion of committing criminal damage.

A Rochdale man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Tuesday 13 October

A male was arrested in Heywood for possession of Class A drugs.

Wednesday 14 October

A 48-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is currently on conditional bail.

A 25-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of theft, burglary and possession of a controlled drug, with intent to supply. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Thursday 15 October

A 30-year-old male has been charged with burglary following his arrest. He was refused bail after charge and appeared before Bury and Rochdale Magistrates the following day.

A 35-year-old male has been charged with robbery following his arrest. He was refused bail after charge and appeared before Bury and Rochdale Magistrates the following day.
