Years 7, 8 & 9 Parents Pastoral meetings

It was very pleasing to see so many parents and carers at the pastoral parents meeting with form tutors on Tuesday to discuss how students had settled into their new classes and timetable. It was a very positive evening with so many parents commenting how quickly their son / daughter had settled into school. Particularly pleasing was the comments from Year 7 parents regarding the transition of their son / daughter. Thank you for your support.

Mrs James’ creative group are working on a production. Robert has written the script and is staring in the film. It’s called Bat Boy vs JJ. The students are enjoying filming and can't wait to see the final production. They have found different places to film. They have used a green screen as a back ground to Gothem city. It’s going to be an exciting action packed film.

Students in 4C have been investigating human rights. They made two towns, using lego, one that had human rights and places such as an NHS hospital, police station etc and one without human rights. Students then compared the two. The lesson was a great success.
SEB have been investigating shape and colour with a Halloween twist. They have produced some lovely witch’s hats and pumpkins which will be used to decorate the hall for the Halloween Disco.

Every week SEB have been joining forces with other groups across school for wheelchair dancing. It’s a really fun experience.

Over at REEC this week we have been learning about hazards in the workplace. We have also been participating in Team Building activities. Because the weather was so nice we decided to go outside where we had 2 teams, which consisted of a person to give directions, one to be blindfolded and the other to ensure the safety of the person with the blindfold.
Both teams communicated and worked really well together.

Student of the week

Imran has been excellent in cricket, and used good vocal skills in Performing Arts. He has settled well into 6th form.

Most Improved Student

Maithe for being more focussed and following instructions. She has been listening well and taking advice on-board.
