Key 103’s Mike Toolan and Chelsea Norris paid a visit to Our Lady and St Paul's Primary School in Heywood on Wednesday (14 October) as part of their ‘Show In A Car’ and brought an extra special surprise with them.

X Factor and I’m a Celebrity star Jake Quickenden also turned up to surprise the pupils.

The visit came about after 10-year-old Molly Nicholson from Our Lady and St Paul's wrote into Key 103 asking for a ‘shout out’ from Mike and Chelsea.

Writing to the show, Molly said: “The teachers are kind, helpful, honest and very hardworking people. They would do anything for us kids, especially in difficulty and I wanted them to know that we all think they are amazing.”

Molly was first surprised by a visit from Mike and Chelsea and then the whole assembly got a surprise when TV star Jack Quickenden appeared to help them sing a song they’d been rehearsing.

The children had re-worked Jessi J’s ‘Who You Are’ and headteacher Michelle Lenihan was clearly touched by the gesture. She said: “It’s incredibly special to hear that your pupils think so much of their school and teachers. Every teacher here aims to make life better for the children every day and it’s wonderful to know we’re doing it well.

“We can’t thank Mike, Chelsea and Jake enough for giving us a day we will never forget.”

Key 103 presenter Mike Toolan said: “It was a lovely letter we received from Molly, who’s clearly a very caring girl to want to say thank you to her teachers so publicly - the look on their faces was absolutely priceless.”
