After eight years in Littleborough, the doors of the Jamilla Paul salon on Calderbrook Road will close.
Asked about the decision to close, Jamilla said: “For many reasons, mostly due to an increase in exciting international work for myself now working in the United Arab Emirates taking on the world of hairdressing and education in a very progressive new territory for me 3,500 miles away, it doesn't make life easy to run multiple locations. I have always worked so hard along with my amazing team at both salons, but I also need time for myself and my family. As usual, I’m exhausted trying to do everything.
“Other reasons, including opportunities for the team on an international level and demand within our huge flagship salon in the centre of Rochdale, has seen the team decide that it would be best to relocate to our Rochdale salon.
“The management strategically for myself, along with the general strain of not being able to find quality hairdressers that will complement our 20 year brand in our town, has sadly made the decision much easier. Unforeseen staff shortages shortly after me taking on my new and exciting role in the United Arab Emirates and an inability to find quality team members for this location, also played a huge part in the decision.”
Jamilla has now decided that it is time to focus on her own work/life balance and is hoping to see the flagship Rochdale salon continue to grow.
She added: “It's time to have all of our team back together in our flagship salon, which is very exciting. We have an amazing hub in our Rochdale salon ranging from award winning hairstylists, barbers and highly experienced colour degree specialists, to lots of creative businesses all working under our Style Hub Brand, including make-up artists, nail technicians, beauticians, Zoe Pearson Aesthetics, Louise Lyons Photography, pop up shops including Maddie Moos Children’s Clothing and Embellished Divas Jewellery, along with Treat Yourself Boutique. This really is a one stop shop for our fabulous loyal clientele.”
The make-up, nails and beauty services will continue to trade at the Littleborough salon, along with the Adonis Café Bar. The hair team will be leaving the location on Saturday 31 October. Anybody with pre-booked appointments will be automatically booked into the Rochdale salon and will be contacted shortly to confirm appointments.
Jamilla added: “The team and I would especially like to thank all of our amazing and loyal clients in Littleborough over the last eight years. A huge thank you goes to my incredible team that will now be located at the Rochdale salon and another huge thank you has to go to our fabulous landlords Caroline and Steve for being what only can described as the most amazing landlords we could wish for. We will truly miss you, but will be up to have some drinks with you at the fabulous Adonis Café Bar.
“From the bottom of my heart thank you Caroline and Steve for all that you have done for us.”
