Caritas Ambassadors meet Bishop John

The role of a Caritas Ambassador is to take the lead in school to raise awareness and take action to support the most needy in society.

St Cuthbert's Caritas Ambassadors recently met with other pupils from high schools across the Diocese to share ideas with each other and with Bishop John at Salford cathedral.

Two of our Ambassadors represented the St Cuthbert's team to present an update including our last Mission Week which focused on issues "In Our Own Back Yard"; our recent CAFOD Shared Harvest Lunch; the recent clothes and food collection for refugees in Calais and their plans to welcome any refugee children who may come to St Cuthbert's in the future.
Bishop John was impressed that our Ambassadors are addressing current issues of need and thanked them for their hard work.

The Ambassadors were then recommissioned in their role by Bishop John during a special Mass in the cathedral. They were also presented with a certificate and handbook.
