Flooding concerns in Milnrow following heavy rain
Date published: 07 October 2015
Concerns have been raised about flooding in Milnrow - following a downpour of heavy rain this morning (Wednesday 7 October) Milnrow Precinct and Rosemary Care Home, on Newhey Lane, were under a foot of water.
Rosemary Care Home Manager Francesca Hawley said: “When we came in this morning there was a huge puddle that went over the road pretty much. It can be bad when the rain is heavy, it just depends really.”
Councillor Allen Brett said: “I reported it last time and the gullies were checked and I wonder if there is a more fundamental problem. At my last advice bureau, I had had residents from Butterworth Hall worried about the stream in the area.”
