Torrential rain predicted from midnight

Heavy rainfall could disrupt traffic
The Met Office has published a yellow weather warning as it predicts a deluge of rain will fall on Greater Manchester from midnight to 4pm on Wednesday.
The alert calls on people to plan ahead and consider potential traffic delays and disruption to day-to-day activities.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Although many areas will miss the heaviest rainfall today (Tuesday), some parts of the warning area are likely to see heavy, sometimes thundery and slow-moving showers.
“These will lead to temporary surface water flooding in a few areas, together with minor disruption to travel.
“Further slow-moving bands of heavy rain are likely to continue into Wednesday; again it will be a minority of places which see the larger totals, but where it occurs, there is the risk of localised minor flooding.”
