Piles of rubbish outside of Rochdale Market
A large pile of rubbish that was photographed outside of Rochdale Market has caused concern with residents, who feel that the mess “isn’t nice for people coming into Rochdale.”
Many people have described the mess as a “disgrace” and are worried that it causes a negative image of Rochdale.
The pile of rubbish is thought to have contained rotten vegetables as well as cardboard boxes and pallets.
A spokesperson for Rochdale Council said: “I can say that the market is cleaned regularly but there may be occasions where items are left waiting for collection for short periods.”
