Lower Place Social Club played host to a family fun day, organised by Cheryl King, in memory of her late brother Peter Harrison. The money raised benefited Springhill Hospice and The Christie. Springhill Hospice received a cheque for £1,100.

Adam Byrne finished a series of fundraising events last weekend. Having taken part in the Hospice to Hospice walk, a sponsored walk from Springhill Hospice to Harpurhey Market and the Manchester 10k, he finished his mountain of challenges by taking part in the Blackley/Middleton 10k.

Gaynor Markam and pals took part in Trek Fest in the Peak District National Park. Gaynor completed 13 miles in five hours and nine minutes and raised £300 for the Hospice.
