Woman confronted by armed burglar when she returned home

Date published: 14 September 2015

An E-fit has been released after a woman was confronted by an armed burglar when she returned home.

Around 10pm on Sunday 30 August 2015, two burglars forced their way into a house on Brotherod Hall Road in Rochdale.

While still in the house, the owner of the house, a woman in her 30s, returned home and disturbed them.

One of the burglars pointed a gun at the woman before they both left the house and got into a silver car waiting outside.

A small amount of cannabis was stolen.

One of the offenders is described as a white man, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, 6ft tall and of a medium build. He is described as having short dark hair and a Mancunian accent. He was wearing a black shell suit and a white t-shirt.

Detective Constable Russ Clarke said: “This was a brazen attack which has had a profound effect on the victim. I ask that you look at the E-fit and if you recognise the man, please contact police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
