Arson attack on house in Kathan Close
Date published: 08 September 2015
Liquid was poured through a letterbox and set alight at a home on Kathan Close in Rochdale between 10pm on Friday 28 August 2015 and 8am on Saturday 29 August 2015.
There was no one inside the address at the time.
Police were called to the incident after damage was discovered.
Detective Constable Donna Rollinson from Rochdale East Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Luckily on this occasion the damage caused by the arson attempt was minimal and nobody was hurt. If the fire had spread however, we could be dealing with a very different situation with multiple lives having been put at risk as the fire could have spread to neighbouring properties. We are taking this incident extremely seriously.
“I would ask anyone who may have seen someone acting in a suspicious manner in the area to contact police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 4087 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
