Springhill Hospice launch 2016 calendar

Springhill Hospice has launched the 2016 version of its calendar.

Each year the calendar is illustrated with 13 photographs taken in all four seasons across the Borough.

The photographs are selected by means of an open photographic competition and the best of the submitted photographs takes pride of place on the calendar cover.

At the launch the winning photographs were disclosed and a photograph showing dragon boat racing on Hollingworth Lake, taken by Lynda Redfern was revealed as the best photograph.

The calendar is on sale in the Hospice, its charity shops and in many other venues.

The 2015 calendar raised over £10,000 to help run the Hospice and its community services.

The Hospice is already planning the 2017 calendar the closing date for entries is the 31March 2016.

The Hospice particularly wants to see photographs that record local events throughout the year and throughout the Borough.

The competition is free to enter and the application form and the conditions of the competition are now available:

Submissions are welcome from all age groups.

Interesting events and locations, and not specifically expertly taken photographs, are sought.
