James Holden cooks up Feel Good Festival 'summer speciality dishes'

Date published: 04 September 2015

Award winning Chef James Holden made two appearances on the celebrity food stage at the Feel Good Festival cooking “summer speciality dishes”, including a scallop starter and a pork dish.

Speaking to Rochdale Online he said: “I often do things like this and do food shows and festivals and they are things I enjoy because you get to get involved with people.”

This was a first appearance at the Feel Good Festival for James, who since 2007, has been leading the way in the ‘Chefs Adopt a School’ food education programme.

He added: “I spend a lot of time going into schools and teaching kids about food and with events like this, you can hit the parents and tell them about things. With my dishes today I didn’t use any salt, and you don’t need to use any, so it’s good to show the parents things like that.”

James also got to spend time at the festival with old friend Aazam Ahmad. The pair did an “evening with” event as a warm up to the festival.

“We go way back Aazam and I, so we did a warm up style event beforehand and that went well,” said James.

The celebrity food stage continues on Saturday from 11am.
