Feel Good Festival kicks off

Date published: 04 September 2015

This year’s Feel Good Festival was opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale and Councillor Janet Emsley.

The two day festival, which brings celebrity chefs and big names in music entertainment to the town, started today (Friday 4 September) at 11am.

Mayor of Rochdale, Surinder Biant said: “It is an honour to be here opening this festival, in what is its successful eighth year. The festival is eagerly anticipated by those in the borough and brings people not only from the borough but from outside of the borough together. I urge everyone to support the festival and the local businesses involved.”

Mayor Biant also praised the people behind the festival and the work done to put the event together.

Councillor Janet Emsley added: “It is a pleasure to be here to open the Feel Good Festival for 2015. This two day festival brings music, cookery and entertainment to the borough. We also have a bigger community stage this year, with many local acts benefiting.”

The festival kicked off on the celebrity food stage at 11am.

Activities have been ongoing throughout the day including regular cookery demonstrations, activities in various tents and performances on the community stage.
