Five vehicle collision on Edinburgh Way leaves two people trapped and injured

A collision involving five cars has left two people injured and has closed Edinburgh Way, Rochdale this evening (Saturday 29 August).
Police, fire service and the ambulance service were called to Edinburgh Way at 5:10pm to reports of the incident, which left two people trapped in one car.
The two injured people were both passengers in the same car. One was a front passenger and the other was a rear passenger. One suffered injuries to an arm and the other suffered injuries to a leg.
Both were treated by paramedics at the scene.
A fire crew from Rochdale and an enhanced rescue crew from Ashton-under-Lyne attended. Crews cut the passengers from the car and made the car safe.
It is understood that Edinburgh Way currently (8.23pm) remains closed between the junction with the A627(M) and the junction with Manchester Road.
