‘Dragon’s Den’ launches for Middleton causes

Date published: 19 August 2015

Middleton Rotary has launched its annual scheme to award cash donations of up to £500 to Middleton charities and other worthy causes. Their ‘Dragon’s Den’ initiative is in its fourth year having given away thousands of pounds since 2011.

Middleton Rotary President, Sue Furby said: “We are delighted to offer our help to any local charity, group or cause that needs our help.

"Last year we awarded grants to a wide range of groups including youth football teams, a community garden project and we supported a scheme to install a defibrillator at Middleton Cricket Club.”

The grants are made possible due to the fundraising Rotary Middleton undertakes during the year, including their much loved Father Christmas float, collections at supermarkets and stalls at May Day and MiddFest.

Lee Wolf, the Chairman of Middleton Rotary’s Community Service Team, encouraged applications from all. He said: “Please don’t allow the ‘Dragon’s Den’ name to put you off, we are not that scary, all we ask it that you complete an initial application form and come and tell us all about why you would like funding.”

Applications should be submitted before the closing date of 30 October, 2015.
