Teddy bear’s picnic extravaganza

Date published: 17 August 2015

Newbold Children’s Centre was overrun with cuddly toys and smiley faces after hosting a teddy bear’s picnic for the local community.

Children, parents and teddy bears were all treated to a day of arts and crafts, a bouncy castle, face painting, skylight circus and a visit from Woody from Toy Story.

The day ended with a picnic enjoyed by humans and stuffed animals alike.

Sarah Byrne, Senior Practitioner at Newbold Children’s Centre said: “The picnic was really well attended, with over 30 families coming along to enjoy themselves. It was great to see a big turn out and all those smiles on the families’ faces. Thank you to all centre staff and volunteers that helped to make the day a huge success. We received a lot of positive feedback and look forward to our next partnership event.”

Parent Leanne Clough said: “We all enjoyed this event as a family; there was something for us all to do together. The children really enjoyed the circus skills - it gave us all a challenge and was a brilliant afternoon.”

The event was created in partnership with Newbold Sure Start Children’s Centre, The Guinness Trust, Petrus, Saint Peter’s Church and Newbold Baptist Church.
